This study aimed to formulate bath bomb preparations from the red dragon fruit peel pollen (Selenicereus monacanthus L.) and to evaluate their physical properties and total anthocyanin content.

The formulations were made with varying pollen concentrations of 5%, 7.5%, and 10%, followed by organoleptic, pH, dissolution time, foam height, stability, and qualitative and quantitative anthocyanin tests using the UV-Vis spectrophotometry method. Organoleptic testing showed that F3 (10%) had the most intense color, characteristic aroma, and solid form. In the pH test, F1 (5%) was the most stable formula and met the bath bomb pH range (8–11). All formulas met the dissolution time requirement (<5 minutes), with F2 (7.5%) showing the most optimal dissolution time among the pollen-containing formulas.

In the foam height test, only F3 (10%) met the foam height criteria. Stability testing using the cycling test method showed that F3 had the best color, shape, and aroma stability over six storage cycles. Determination of total anthocyanin content showed that F3 (10%) had the highest level of 2.504 mg/L. Thus, it can be concluded that increasing pollen concentration enhances anthocyanin content and color stability but may affect pH reduction and foam formation.

Keywords: Red dragon fruit peel; Pollen; Bath bomb; Anthocyanins
2026-03-02T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Jurnal Komunitas Farmasi Nasional https://jkfn.akfaryarsiptk.ac.id/index.php/jkfn/article/view/173 Drug Related Problems (Drps) Penggunaan Obat Anti Asma Pada Pasien Pediatri di Klinik ‘X’ 2026-02-13T03:58:55+00:00 NADILA KHAIRANI nadilakhairani27@gmail.com Tri Yanuarto yanuartiga@gmail.com Luky Dharmayanti Lukydharmayanti@gmail.com
Asthma is a chronic non-communicable disease, with a high prevalence among children in Indonesia, yet adequate treatment is still low. Blume) is the exudate of the jernang rattan fruit which has been traditionally used as a traditional medicine. The active compounds contained in it include flavonoids, saponins, terpenoids, alkaloids, and phenolics, which are known to have potential as anti-inflammatory agents. This study aims to design a topical preparation in the form of an ointment from jernang sap extract and to test its physical quality and anti-inflammatory effects in vivo. The extraction process was carried out using a maceration technique using 96% ethanol, then the extract obtained was formulated into three variations of ointment with different concentrations (F1: 1%, F2: 2%, F3: 3%), using a base of vaseline flavum, lanolin, and propyl paraben as a preservative. Testing the physical quality of the ointment included organoleptic examination, homogeneity, pH value, spreadability, and viscosity. Anti-inflammatory activity was tested using male mice (Mus musculus) induced with 1% carrageenan on the paws, and the edema volume was measured using a plethysmometer.

The results showed that an ointment made from jernang extract could be prepared with stable physical properties during storage. ANOVA analysis and further testing showed that formulas with higher concentrations (F2 and F3) provided a significant inflammation-inhibiting effect, nearly comparable to the positive control, a 2.5% hydrocortisone ointment. Thus, jernang extract has potential as a natural ingredient for topical anti-inflammatory ointments.
2026-03-02T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Jurnal Komunitas Farmasi Nasional https://jkfn.akfaryarsiptk.ac.id/index.php/jkfn/article/view/225 UJI AKTIVITAS ANTIHIPERURISEMIA EKSTRAK ETANOL DAUN BUNI (Antidesma bunius L.) This study aims to evaluate the activity and effective dose of ethanolic extract of buni leaves as ananti-hyperuricemic agent in male white mice (Mus musculus L.) induced with potassium oxonate and chicken liver juice. A total of 25 mice were divided into five groups: positive control (allopurinol 100 mg/kgBW), negative control (0.5% Na-CMC), and three test groups receiving buni leaf extract at doses of 50 mg/kgBW, 75 mg/kgBW, and 100 mg/kgBW,respectively. Uric acid levels were measured over a period of 4 hours after treatment. The results showed that the positivecontrol group and all groups treated with buni leaf extract at doses of 50, 75, and 100 mg/kg BW exhibited antihyperuricemic activity, as indicated by a significant difference compared to the negative control group (p<0.05). Thepercentage of antihyperuricemic activity reached 100% in the positive control group and all buni leaf extract groups. One way to protect the skin is through topical preparations such as lotion containing natural antioxidants. This study aimed to determine the antioxidant activity of lotion containing the ethanol fraction of nipah leaves and to identify its IC₅₀ value as an indicator of potency. The ethanol fraction was obtained by maceration and liquid-liquid fractionation, and formulated into three lotion variants with different cetyl alcohol concentrations. Antioxidant activity was tested using the DPPH method and analyzed by UV-Vis spectrophotometry. The results showed that the lotion formula with the highest cetyl alcohol concentration (F3) had an IC₅₀ value of 45.39 µg/mL, categorized as very strong. The conclusion is that lotion with ethanol fraction of nipah leaves has high antioxidant activity and potential as a natural cosmetic product.
2026-03-02T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Jurnal Komunitas Farmasi Nasional
