Intestinal worms are an endemic and chronic disease transmitted through soil caused by parasitic worms that can infect the intestinal cavity, thereby reducing nutritional status and resulting in the loss of carbohydrates, proteins, and blood due to poor personal hygiene and sanitation. The purpose of this community service activity is to increase the knowledge and skills of students regarding intestinal worms and their prevention at the Tunas Bhakti Elementary School in Mega Timur Village; to empower children to independently prevent intestinal worms by washing their hands before eating and after using the toilet, using toilets properly and appropriately, cutting nails, disposing of waste in designated areas; educating elementary school/MI students to obtain deworming medication at the POSYANDU or ELEMENTARY SCHOOL/MADRASAH IBTIDAIYAH, as well as educating them on the correct way to take deworming medication, according to the dosage, the chosen form of medication, and the correct interval between doses; as well as a means of community service by lecturers from the Yarsi Pontianak Pharmacy Academy. The activity was carried out using lectures and question-and-answer discussions, and was held at the Tunas Bhakti Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in Mega Timur Village, Kuburaya Regency, and was attended by 60 students and teachers from the Tunas Bhakti Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. Participants were very enthusiastic in receiving the material, so many questions were asked.

Pemberdayaan Pedagang Sentra Wisata Kuliner melalui Pelatihan Manajemen Bank Sampah Berbasis Komunitas di Surabaya

Permasalahan sampah di kawasan Sentra Wisata Kuliner (SWK) Gayungan, Kota Surabaya, masih menjadi tantangan serius akibat penerapan sistem "kumpul-angkut-buang" tanpa pemilahan. Hal ini menyebabkan tingginya volume sampah yang berakhir di TPA dan hilangnya potensi nilai ekonomi sampah. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan keterampilan para pedagang dalam mengelola sampah melalui pelatihan manajemen Bank Sampah berbasis komunitas. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi sosialisasi urgensi pengelolaan sampah, pelatihan teknis pemilahan, serta pendampingan praktik langsung dengan pendekatan Participatory Learning and Action (PLA). Kegiatan ini melibatkan 29 pedagang sebagai mitra. Evaluasi dilakukan menggunakan instrumen pre-test dan post-test. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada pemahaman mitra. Peserta yang paham mengenai manajemen bank sampah meningkat drastis dari 20,6% menjadi 65,5% setelah pelatihan. Selain itu, terbentuk kesepakatan kolektif untuk memilah sampah organik dan anorganik secara mandiri. Program ini menyimpulkan bahwa pendekatan edukatif dan partisipatif efektif mengubah paradigma pedagang dari sekadar membuang sampah menjadi mengelola sampah sebagai sumber daya ekonomi baru.

EDUKASI UPAYA PENCEGAHAN KECACINGAN DI USIA DINI PADA MASYARAKAT DESA JAWA TENGAH KABUPATEN KUBU RAYA

One of the health problems currently being faced by the government is worm infestation. This is caused by poor environmental sanitation in the community. The worm infestation socialization conducted in Central Java Village is one of Akfar Yarsi's contributions in helping the government reduce the incidence of worm infestation. Central Java Village is an area in Kubu Raya Regency where some residents still raise livestock under their homes, this is one of the factors causing worm infestation. The community service was carried out by providing material on worm infestation socialization to PKK mothers, then conducting a knowledge evaluation and providing worm infestation medication to be given to children in the Central Java Village area. Based on the evaluation conducted, there was a significant increase in knowledge among PKK mothers after receiving the socialization material (p<0.05). This is in accordance with the set output target of increasing mothers' knowledge about worm infestation. Mothers who have received the socialization are expected to be able to recognize the characteristics or symptoms experienced by children if they are affected by worms in the community.

PENYULUHAN DALAM MENGENAL PENYAKIT HEPATITIS MELALUI PEMANFAATAN FLASHCARD ANATOMI TUBUH MANUSIA DI SMK SWADAYA GLOBAL SCHOOL

Hepatitis remains a global health issue, including in Indonesia. The lack of public awareness, especially among teenagers, regarding hepatitis and its prevention highlights the need for health education. This community service activity aimed to improve students’ understanding of hepatitis and proper drug storage using human anatomy flashcards at SMK Swadaya Global School, East Jakarta. The method used was interactive education divided into three sessions: introduction to the liver, hepatitis education, and proper drug storage. A total of 76 students participated in the activity, which began with a pre-test, continued with material presentations by the facilitators, followed by an interactive discussion, and concluded with a post-test. Evaluation results showed an increase in students’ knowledge, particularly regarding hepatitis transmission, with a score increase of 21%. All students demonstrated good comprehension of the material, as evidenced by improved post-test scores and active participation in discussions. This activity indicates that education through flashcards is effective in enhancing teenagers’ knowledge about hepatitis and drug storage.
