Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that affects children's physical growth and development, potentially reducing the quality of human resources in the future. One of the main causes of stunting is the lack of public awareness about the importance of consuming nutritious food, along with the high intake of processed foods and unhealthy snacks. This community service activity aimed to increase the knowledge of residents in Karimunting Village, Sungai Raya Kepulauan District, Bengkayang Regency, West Kalimantan, regarding the importance of consuming nutritious foods based on natural ingredients as a preventive measure against stunting. The method used was interactive education and counseling through material presentation, two-way discussions, and demonstrations of local food processing into healthy snacks in the form of soft cookies made from sweet potatoes and moringa leaves. The results showed that the community began to understand the importance of a balanced diet and the potential use of local food sources such as fish and corn, which had not been optimally utilized. This activity is expected to encourage healthier consumption behavior and become a concrete effort to reduce stunting rates in the area.
