TRAINING ON THE PRODUCTION OF AROMATHERAPY REED DIFFUSERS FROM CITRONELLA (CYMBOPOGON NARDUS) TO ENHANCE THE SKILLS OF PKK CADRES IN TRIYAGAN VILLAGE, SUKOHARJO

Abstract

The residents of Dukuh Karangturi RT 3 RW 1, Triyagan Village, Mojolaban Sub-district, Sukoharjo Regency, still require training to enhance their skills, improve room aesthetics, and promote family healthcare, particularly by utilizing easily obtainable traditional natural materials. This is aimed at fostering the development of home-based industries to improve the local economy. Therefore, counseling and training in the production of aromatherapy reed diffusers made from aromatic lemongrass are necessary.

This community service project consists of two main components. First, it provides education on the health benefits of traditional natural products. Second, it offers training on how to produce aromatherapy reed diffusers using a mixture of essential oils (eucalyptus, lavender, and anise), along with propylene glycol (as a carrier oil), ethanol, and citronella oil.

This project is intended to equip the community with new skills to create reed diffusers that serve as room fresheners and mosquito repellents. These diffusers are simple and inexpensive to make, making them a promising home-based business opportunity for families. Additionally, they contribute to improving room aesthetics and supporting the family’s daily health.
